My Approach

I approach counseling from a strengths-based and trauma-informed perspective, using my training as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional to address the negative impacts of trauma in my clients’ lives. I typically draw from therapy models including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy to facilitate clients’ movement toward greater fulfillment and joy in their lives.

Reaching out for help can be a difficult thing to do, and I am honored to partner with you in this decision to move toward a place of greater healing and fulfillment. In therapy, I use warmth and curiosity to help my clients identify the inherent strengths they possess as well as the barriers that may be getting in their way. As a therapist, I am led by my belief in the innate goodness and worthiness of each human being and approach the challenges that may be bringing you to therapy from a place of warmth, curiosity, and compassion.

What to Expect

Our work together will be guided by the areas of your life that you would like to see change for the better. I will work with you to identify old patterns that are no longer serving you as well as highlight the ways that greater acceptance and gentleness with yourself can promote healing in your life and relationships. I enjoy working with individuals struggling with the negative impacts of trauma, depression, anxiety, and thoughts of suicide or self-harm. Additionally, I am passionate about working with teens and young adults in the areas of identity development, life direction, and self-esteem.

At the start of therapy, we will work together to identify broad goals to provide direction and clarity regarding how I can best be of service to you. As we work in these areas my goal will be to facilitate a sense of safety and trust that you feel empowered to look meaningfully at difficult areas in your life. I am priviledged to be a witness to your story and hope to be supportive and a useful helper in your continued growth.
