FAQs
Do your clinicians take insurance?
Sojourn Counseling is an out of network provider. However, a diagnostic receipt can be provided that may lead to reimbursement by your insurance company depending on your plan. Sojourn can accept HSA or flex funds. Additionally, there are a limited number of scholarships available for those who need extra help to make counseling happen. This can be discussed during your initial consult.
Should I start with weekly or biweekly sessions?
We recommend starting once per week. Once you begin to reach your goals, it can be helpful to move to biweekly or monthly to phase out with maintenance sessions until you feel ready to phase out of counseling for that season of your life.
Do you offer in-person and teletherapy options?
Yes, all clinicians offer in-person and teletherapy options.
How can I make the most of my therapy experience?
Come as you are. In counseling, you don’t have to pretend that everything is fine.
Be ready to work, and know that your definition of work may look different than someone else.
Ask questions, and if we share something that doesn’t make sense, ask us to explain in a different way.
Tell us if an intervention or technique isn’t working for you. One of our goals as therapists is to champion your autonomy, and when you share that something isn’t working, it provides the two of us a beautiful opportunity to course correct for something better or process through the blocks that may be coming up for you.
