My Approach
I believe a warm, nonjudgmental space is key to exploring the depths of what it means to be human. During our time together, I invite my clients to come as they are. It takes courage to begin the therapeutic process, and all emotions are welcome and embraced, even the painful and difficult ones. My goal is to help you connect with your authenticity, live in deeper alignment with your values, and find a renewed sense of purpose and fulfillment in your relationships, including the relationship you have with yourself.

I enjoy the sunshine, cooking delicious meals, hiking and camping, skiing, the Utah desert, and drinking tea and reading fiction. I admire a good conversation, an inspiring podcast, an enriching craft, and spending quality time with my loved ones.
Kelly Humes
Hi, I’m Kelly! I am a trauma-informed therapist and hold a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. I bring a relational, heart-centered, and grounded approach to the therapeutic setting. Compassion, curiosity, and contemplation will infuse our time together, and I believe in going slowly and gently as we explore and reflect upon your unique story with the hope of making new discoveries along the way. I am passionate about working with anyone experiencing life transitions, grief, trauma, anxiety, chronic illness, and relational issues. I also enjoy working with anyone seeking deeper meaning or desiring to cultivate healthy relationships and communication patterns. My aspiration in our sessions together is that you will feel more embodied, empowered, and confident. I trust it is my clients who lead their own transformations, and it is an honor to partner with you and witness your resilience, unfolding wisdom, and growth through our time together.

What to Expect
I am trained in Contemplative Psychotherapy, which posits that we each have an innate capacity to heal and are intrinsically whole and good even when we are suffering. Sometimes our goodness or wholeness can get covered up by old wounds and painful patterns. I use the therapeutic space to help my clients normalize and accept distressing feelings and emotional states. My approach is somatic- I value and trust the wisdom of the body. It is also holistic- I honor elements of mind, body, and spirit in my work with clients. I also integrate psychoeducation and therapeutic techniques informed by mindfulness, attachment theory, parts work, and emotionally focused therapy into sessions.
