What to Expect

As we journey through life, we each have unique experiences, relationships and circumstances that contribute to who we are as a person.  It’s inevitable that along the way, we will all experience things that are confusing, difficult, or even traumatic.  Sometimes we simply need someone to support us as we walk through these experiences.  Other times, we might need someone to help us look more closely at unhealthy patterns or coping mechanisms we’ve built up over a long period of time and help us start to untangle the hold that they have over us.

As a counselor, it’s my privilege to be able to come alongside my clients and walk with them through this process. I strive to provide support and practical feedback in a way that can help you to see yourself and your struggles in a new way and to find healthier ways to move forward.

  • In my free time I can usually be found spending time with my husband and our two kiddos enjoying all of the incredible activities and beautiful places that Colorado has to offer!

Making the choice to open up to someone about your struggles or to share difficult parts of your story is not an easy thing to do.  As a therapist, I consider it an honor that clients choose to trust me with their stories and my number one priority is to create a space where you feel safe to do so without fear of judgment.

I believe that therapy is a collaborative effort between the counselor and client, and it is my desire to provide a place where you are able not only to explore painful aspects of your past, but also to experience true acceptance and find the strength to learn new skills and make positive changes in your life.

My Approach

I believe that each person is unique, and I use an integrated treatment approach that is customized to each client's individual needs. My approach to therapy is client- centered and I draw from aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Solution-Focused Therapy and trauma- informed therapy modalities, and I am additionally trained in Brainspotting.

Curious about Brainspotting?

I am trained in Brainspotting which is a relatively new and exciting therapy designed to help people access and process symptoms of trauma and other mental health struggles such as anxiety and depression. It is based on the understanding that where our eyes go affects how we feel and what information we are able to access within the brain. In a Brainspotting session, we work together to identify a place where you look (your visual field) that is connected to a negative emotion that you are experiencing. The body is then able to process emotional experiences and symptoms that may be difficult to access through talk therapy alone.
